Quick Answer
Start with the rim diameter (bubble tea cups are commonly 90 or 95 mm) and the cup material, and always test-fit samples, since rims vary by factory. Flat lids suit regular cold drinks; dome lids leave room for cheese foam, smoothies and toppings; coffee lids have a sip opening for hot drinks. Sealing film seals better for delivery but needs a sealing machine.
Common lids compared
| Type | Features | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Flat lid (cross slit, round hole) | Low profile, stacks well | Regular cold drinks, fruit tea |
| Dome lid (large or small hole) | Space above the drink | Cheese foam, smoothies, shaved ice drinks |
| Coffee lid (sip opening) | Drink without a straw | Hot drinks, lattes |
| Sealing film | Sealed, leak-resistant | Delivery and takeaway bubble tea |
Matching rims
- Measure the cup’s outer rim; 90 mm and 95 mm lids are not interchangeable.
- Cups of the same size from different factories may have different rolled rims, so test-fit samples before ordering.
- Paper and plastic cups have different rims; choose lids for your cup material.
- See the cup size chart.
Lids or sealing film?
Lids need no equipment and can be reopened, but may leak when shaken; sealing film with a cup sealing machine seals better for delivery and takeaway. Many shops keep both: lids for dine-in and hot drinks, film for delivery.
