Quick Answer
Single and double cup bags are most common for one or two drinks; for four or more, use pulp cup carriers to keep cups upright; sleeves insulate hot drinks and stop condensation on cold ones. Since 2018, Taiwan has included drink shops among businesses that may not give free plastic shopping bags; the charge is set by the business. Bags and sleeves are also great spots for brand printing.
Bags, carriers and sleeves compared

Taiwan’s plastic bag rule for drink shops
- From 2018, drink shops, bakeries and others were added to businesses that may not give free plastic shopping bags.
- The charge is set by the business, and the earlier thickness limit was removed.
- A first violation gets a warning; repeat violations can be fined NT$1,200–6,000 under the Waste Disposal Act.
- Paper bags, pulp carriers and customers’ own bags avoid disputes; follow local rules in export markets.
